Abstract
This study investigated the usability of Tanzanian government mobile applications for people with disability. Understanding their usability is vital because of their crucial role in citizen engagement and inclusivity. However, limited research exists on this topic. This study employed the mGQM framework to evaluate the usability of five government mobile applications through a field study. Findings revealed a mixed level of user satisfaction. While some usability attributes were deemed satisfactory, others, such as feedback provided via the applications, the arrangement of the main menu, response time, the language used, ease of learning on using the applications, text size, font type, text colour, screen layout, voice assistance and multimedia usage fell short of user expectations. The study provides valuable recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders to enhance the usability of government mobile applications, ultimately improving citizen experience and service delivery.
